I went into this office with the idea of supporting local business. Her hours mean I have to take time off work in order to book an appointment. My appointment was late. The staff were overall polite, I bled bad during the cleaning, cleaning was rough, hygeneist told me I had great teeth, and that looking at the xrays I may have 1 cavity. They recommended several xrays and a panoramic xray (for anyone who has benefits, the fee of this xray is barely covered, and a large unnecessary expense). Lara began the examination with expressing her concern for why I didn't have braces, I explained my reasoning, and she continued to go on (almost shaming me)as to me not having braces, having a palate issue, etc all because my teeth were not perfect (I have no health issues with my teeth, and no compaints) after that discussion was over, we discussed a referral to have my wisdom teeth removed, I agreed that it was time for the procedure, however I had to hound the dental staff to send the referral and xrays to the surgeon. During her exam she began listing all my cavities that needed filled ASAP. I believe it was over 7 fillings, on all quandrants of my mouth, when I had NEVER had a filling in my life, let alone several! Thankfully I DID NOT book the service for all the fillings to be done, as I recently went to a new dentist with high ratings and was told I have 2 TINY cavities, cavities that don't even need to be filled right away, and don't need any numbing as they are that small. The town Dr. Lara represents is a town with many average to low income families, she is charging high price, and overdiagnosing for what I can only assume is for her benefit. The only thing they did reasonably well was to refer me to a great surgeon to remove my wisdom teeth, and even that I had to remind the staff a few times to send in the referral.
