I worked for Dr Thomas Varden and need to warn any potential patients of this man. His license was taken away for giving illegal prescriptions. As well, he uses drugs while practicing dentistry. He has epilepsy and the college allowed him to practice. He is a menace.

Thomas Varden told me I needed a root canal. My gut feeling was to leave right away as there was something about him that spooked me . I had never met him before. But, he said he enjoyed doing root canals and he was very friendly. A couple of days later my tooth fell apart and upon getting three other opinions it was found that he left a piece of a dental tool in my tooth and he had done the wrong nerve. The tooth, which by the way , according to x-rays, never even required a root canal in the first place has to be extracted. Now a large hole must be filled by an implant which will cost me over 5 thousand dollars--- money which I do not have. Shortly after he destroyed my mouth, my smile, my trust, I saw him walking downtown and he looked as if he was on drugs. Investigation by College of Dental Surgeons resulted in suspension of his licence. I wish I had trusted my gut feeling.
